It's a bit unbalanced I think due to a couple of issues. I'm trying to complete the Hagalaz fight at the moment. I don't really have answers for this though. So the (rather) boring part last longer and the most memorable part doesn't have the time to really shine. This leads to a long and tedious first phase and a very short final phase, where the boss might not even be able to have a full cycle of his attacks. So what I've done is to always save my attack god powers for last, and try to finish them off almost instantly when they reach the third phase. One thing that I've found a bit annoying is that, even though the final phase of each boss fights are really hectic and the most enjoyable part, it's also very easy to die there and lose your progress. Wouldn't it be better to make the spears in the foreground in all cases? Also 3) Odin will block your view of the spears if they overlap. Though by the time that becomes an issue, you could probably just spam Thor's and Odin's god power to finish him as quickly as possible. The difficulty in dodging also comes in 1) when there are multiple spears on the screen, the perspective zoom will feel a bit random, and mess with your sense of position/moving, 2) the other hazards on the map force you to move other ways, and Odin himself could block or hinder your movement. So it literally never occurs to me that I might be able to attack the spears. I guess it's because 1) your Gungnir power has no collision whatsoever, and 2) Odin's Gungnir doesn't collide with himself as well, and the two god powers that directly counter them (Loki's and Heimdal's) give the impression that you are (or the decoy is) still taking the hit. I also never found out that you can attack the spears. an "Easy" mode would be greatly appreciated, as well, and this is very important, the ability to control the zoom of the camera, since during fights like the one with the giant and all the dwarves it's extremely easy to lost Thora from your sight, this happens as well during Kaunan's and the Final Boss when you have three jotun attacking you and spears looking for you. The artificial difficulty (Handicap of duration of items, movement speed, and attack speed) of the game is too much during the final battle. three is overkill since you have to watch for the 5-6 spears going around the map and where Kaunan is going to drop, while runing away from the lightnings the storm giant throws at you at the same time you are avoiding the poison gas from the forest jotun. the damage should be reduced, or a maximum amount of two should be allowed on the final level at the same time. The spears he throws are quite difficult to dodge, this is because the spears correct its path really quickly, and also, the head of the spear is too wide, this should be tweaked (since Thora took ages to get out of her attack animation and moves really slow), or the spears should have a life time, like 90 secs or so, since in the end you are running around trying to dodge them and TRYING to see what the jotun are going to do. I think it's just a bad joke from the devs. The first 4 fights (Forest-Cave-Winter-Storm) are fine, but the one with the fire giant has a lot of issues regarding where he's going to hit with the sword regarding the hit box of the shadow of the sword (Sometimes you are out of the shadow and he hits you anyway), also, the fire balls that drop from above lasts for a lot, it isn't weird to have two or three waves of fire balls around you at the same time, additionally, if the giant drops in the right place, he can cage you between him and the molten floor.Ī wider area between the giant and the projectiles would be a good idea if you don't want to change the duration of the burning floor.Īnother issue is that he pushes you away when he enters to his "dizzy" animation, he can push you to the molten floor and that's a big game-over.įinally, when in his dizzy animation, the sword (which is horizontal to the floor) should have no colition with Thora, this will make easier to reach his head, and I mention this because sometimes I've been trapped between the sword and molten floor all around me and I was unable to move anywhere. The spear power (The one you get in Musspelheim) should be more powerful in damage or have a charge of 3 by default since it's a pain to reach the island and doesn't feel rewarding enough. its most interesting level is Brokk's Forge, but you can't do anything with the so-called forge, a faster axe or an attack upgrade would've been nice since in the final battle you rely too much in speed and Mjölnir. While being artistically impressive, the low pacing (walking and fighting) of the game are a serious issue, for the first part of the campaign I was going around yawning all the time.
